Ontario Flora and Fauna

The flora and fauna of Southern Ontario reflect its location along the boundary between the Carolinian zone of Canada and the Northern Hardwood forest of southern and central Ontario. The Flora & Fauna found along this imaginary boundary represent an intermixing of species characteristic of both the Carolinian and Northern Hardwood forests

In this first feature we look at the harbingers of Spring and the beginning of the spring hiking season as the Birds of Spring come back from their winter grounds. Our second feature presents a photo album of 45 birds of Ontario.
