F01 - Borer’s, Webster’s and Tews Falls

From Toronto follow the Gardiner Expressway and QEW West. Approaching Burlington keep to the right and exit onto Hwy 403. Take Hwy 6 North, driving past the first stoplight. At the flashing overhead yellow caution light and gas station, turn left onto York Road. CAUTION: Watch for oncoming traffic. Turn right onto Valley Road and follow it to the end at a stop sign and then turn left onto Rock Chapel Road. Follow Rock Chapel until you come to a bridge at Borer’s Falls and look for a small parking lot on the left near marker 318 a short way past the bridge.

After hiking this area, turn left onto Rock Chapel Road from the parking lot. Follow onto Sydenham Road which makes a large S-curve at this point. Keep to the right for Harvest Road straight ahead through the curve. Follow Harvest Road to the Spencer Gorge Wilderness Area parking lot on the left. At certain times a small parking fee is required.

Follow the hiking trail map to visit Webster’s Falls and then Tews Falls.
Exit the parking lot turning right onto Harvest Road. Return the way you came or turn right onto Sydenham Road (see note below) and head downhill to King St W at the stoplight. Turning right you will find shops, restaurants and pubs. Try the Winchester Arms Pub at 120 King W for fine food. If you find other good after-hike places, please post in our forums.

To return, head back east on King St which becomes Cootes Drive. At the stoplight turn left onto Olympic Drive which becomes York Road. Return to HWY #6 turning right and then exiting onto 403 East which feeds into the QEW to Toronto.

Note: After the hike you cannot take Sydenham Rd downhill to the Winchester Arms Pub as Sydenham is closed at the bridge for repairs from 15 Apr 2003 to 15 Oct 2003. Instead turn left onto Harvest Road. At Brock Rd (Hwy #8) turn left and follow downhill to King St. W.
