Hamilton’s ‘Golden Gate’ pedestrian bridge nears completion

Interesting article published January 27, 2011 in The Daily News, names the new bridge connecting Hamilton's eastern neighbourhoods to their incredible waterfront, the Golden Gate because its rusty red colour recalls the famous bridge by that name in San Francisco. According to the article the clay-red colour is meant to recall the red clay cliffs of the Red Hill Valley. The bridge spanning 12 lanes of the QEW is officially named the East Hamilton Trail and Waterfront Pedestrian Bridge and scheduled to open this Spring.
