Sold Out - Bruce Trail hike to Crawford Lake - Bus Ride Incl (Sat, June 11)

Let's spend a day in the fabulous Ontario outdoors, and enjoy a hiking adventure in the company of other outdoor enthusiasts from all over the GTA! 

Our scenic adventure will take us along a well-marked section of the world-renowned Bruce Trail, from Rattlesnake Point to picturesque Crawford Lake. This hike along the edge of the escarpment is peaceful and not too challenging. The views are really amazing and add to the enjoyment of the outing. At the beginning of the trail, at the southern most point of Rattlesnake Point, there is a staircase that allows one to climb down to the base of the escarpment.

Further highlights of this excursion include the Crawford Lake Visitors Centre and the 15th-century Iroquoian village near the lake.

Our CHARTERED BUS will shuttle us from Downtown Toronto (Yonge and Bloor) to this hiking site, located about 70 Km from the city. Length: 15 Km

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Intermediate – Previous experience hiking for 4+ hours required

MODE OF TRAVEL: Chartered Bus (yellow school bus).

WHAT TO BRING: Water (at least 1 L), lunch, snacks, appropriate clothing and footwear, hat, rain jacket or small umbrella (just in case), camera, cellphone, cash for personal expenses and/or donation to TorontoHiking, enthusiasm.

POST-EVENT: N/A 

WEATHER POLICY: In the event of hazardous weather conditions, this trip will be cancelled or rescheduled. The hike leader will monitor the weather forecast and notify all registered members at least 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel the event (in the event of a light shower or light wind, the trip will not be cancelled.) 

TOTAL HIKING TIME: 5.0-5.5 hours hiking including lunch and breaks, depending on overall group pace.

TIMELINE Meet our group at the bus pickup location below NO LATER than 9:15 AM. You will read and sign a waiver form and then board the bus at 9:30 AM. The hike will start when we arrive at destination, around 11:00 AM

The pickup lacation for our chartered bus is outside the Toronto Reference Library at 789 Yonge St, Toronto (Yonge & Bloor TTC Station).
