BioBLitz2022

One weekend. One giant snapshot of Niagara Escarpment biodiversity.

oin the 2022 Bruce Trail Spring Bioblitz this May 27-29 and add your plant and wildlife observations to our trail-wide citizen science effort.
We are aiming to collect observations of as many species as possible, that are visible or audible from the Bruce Trail, in a three-day stretch.

To participate, simply grab your smartphone or camera and take a hike anywhere along the Bruce Trail during the Bioblitz weekend, snapping photos of the species you observe. Plants, birds, insects, frogs, fungi... whatever you can find! Then, share your observations with us using the iNaturalist website or app.

iNaturalist is a free citizen science platform that allows people everywhere to share their observations of the natural world, get assistance identifying species from AI and experts, and contribute to a database used by scientists to better understand biodiversity.

The Bruce Trail Conservancy has a project on iNaturalist where citizen scientists can add their observations of species along the trail, helping us to better understand and steward our conservation corridor. All observations made between May 27 and May 29 that are added to the project will be counted toward the 2022 Bruce Trail Bioblitz!

Everyone can help collect this important biodiversity data. Experts and novices alike. No registration is required for this event.
