Towering limestone cliffs, caves and glacial potholes, including one of the world's largest, are a few of the natural wonders at the Rockwood, which offers canoeing, hiking, swimming and picnicking opportunities.
The Rockwood Conservation Area, also known as Rockwood Park, is a scenic conservation area situated in Western Ontario, about 90 Km from Toronto. Public operations run between May 1 and the first Sunday following Thanksgiving. It is a popular destination for many local residents, with over 65,000 patrons visiting every year to enjoy the geological attractions of the park, as well as the historic ruins of the Rockwood Woolen Mills.
Our CHARTER BUS will shuttle us from Toronto’s College TTC Station to the conservation area. Length: ~10 Km

WHAT TO BRING: Water (at least 1 L), lunch, snacks, appropriate clothing and footwear, hat, rain jacket or small umbrella (just in case), camera, cellphone, cash for personal expenses and/or donation to TorontoHiking, enthusiasm.
WEATHER POLICY: In the event of hazardous weather conditions, this trip will be cancelled. The hike leader will monitor the weather forecast and notify all registered members at least 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel the event (in the event of a light shower or light wind, the trip will not be cancelled.)
TOTAL HIKING TIME: 4.0-4.5 hours hiking including lunch and breaks, depending on overall group pace.

Meet our group at the bus pickup location below NO LATER than 7:45 AM. You will read and sign a waiver form and then board the bus at 8:00 AM. The hike will start when we arrive at destination, around 9:30 AM. We will return to College Stn by 6:00 PM by shuttle bus.
How to find Walter: Look for a TALL, middle-aged man with a backpack and a baseball cap. I will hold up a paper sign that says “Hiking”.
