Announcement from brucetrail.org
"Since 1984 the Bruce Trail Conservancy has been lucky to call Rasberry House, on the grounds of the Royal Botanical Gardens' Arboretum, home.
Back then the BTC had a staff of 2 working to support our volunteers in establishing and maintaining the Trail (particularly in government and landowner relations), grow our membership, and support conservation initiatives on the Niagara Escarpment. We remain grateful for the generous support shown by the RBG in providing office space for these past 32 years.
The BTC has now grown to one of the largest land trusts in the Province, providing a world-famous footpath, and supported by 9,200 members, over 1,400 volunteers and 15 staff members. We have been assessing the suitability of Rasberry House as a head office for more than a decade, taking into consideration the lack of space needed to house all staff and office volunteers, limited storage availability, lack of meeting rooms, limited accessibility and other factors. These considerations, coupled with the RBG's own desire for more space for their growing staff and operations, gave us the impetus to seek out a new location.
We are delighted to announce that on April 18, 2016 the BTC head office will be relocated to 55 Head Street in Dundas, Ontario. The fully accessible, LEED certified building at Head Street offers visitors, staff and volunteers a welcoming, light-filled office space in view of Dundas Peak. We are grateful to Mattamy Homes for donating much of the office furniture, as well as to our forward- thinking Board of Directors who, in anticipation of an eventual move, began setting aside funds for a new head office in 2009.
New Physical Address:
55 Head St., Suite 101, Dundas, L9H 3H8
(Located at the corner of Head Street and Mill Street. Entrance is off Mill Street)
The BTC is working hard to further our mission while providing excellent member, volunteer and donor services, and we know we will benefit from the modern and productive work environment our new head office will provide.
We look forward to welcoming our members and supporters at an Open House in June 2016. Details to come."
